Jan and Lyn work both individually and together.
Jan has gained extensive experience in the fields of Human Resources, Organisation Development, Training and general Business Management. His more than 35 years’ experience was gained whilst employed in and consulting to large and small Manufacturing and Service industries, governmental institutions and volunteering in NGOs. The underlying drive of his career is his passion for business optimisation through the development of Human Resource potential and effective utilization of Systems. Although approaching business optimization from a human growth and development focus he adopts a macro perspective and includes, amongst other, data-, financial- and operations management perspectives. This includes the identification and adjustment of both tangible and intangible factors affecting system performance.
Since 1996 Jan has been functioning as successful management consultant, both independently and in association with other consulting firms. He has participated in, managed and coordinated numerous change interventions within South Africa and for large multinational organisations throughout Africa. Interventions include Strategic management, Team building, Human Resource systems design, training processes and organisation culture change interventions.
In addition to his consulting, Jan has also been actively involved in the development of future managers through lecturing on M.B.A. and Management Development programmes. He acts both as lecturer and research supervisor for Strategic and Operational management, Governance, Human Resource and Organisation Development related subjects. He has also presented and published papers on individual and organisation functioning at conferences.
Jan has also been involved informally as guide and mentor in the development of NGOs dealing with development, the aged and HIV.

Lyn van Rooyen is a consultant passionate about bringing social change through individual and organisational effectiveness. Her key focus areas are NPO Consulting, Gender, HIV and Wellness, Training and Facilitation and Communication.
From 2011 to 2018 Lyn was the executive director of CABSA, the Christian AIDS Bureau. CABSA motivates and assists the Church to bring transformation in the areas of health, well-being and gender equality in a world affected by HIV. This is done through training and mobilising, knowledge management, sensitising and advocacy and networking and system strengthening.
She was the developer of CARIS, the Christian AIDS Resource and Information Service, a programme of CABSA. CARIS equipped and provided information, resources and tools to Churches and Christian organisations involved in HIV work, through a physical resource centre, a comprehensive online resource service and various other services. This was lauded as a good practice knowledge management and communication function for HIV programmes and project management in the faith-based arena.
Lyn has been involved in the NGO Sector full time since 2004. Her prior experience was in the field of health and business. She holds a B.Cur (Nursing) degree from RAU (now University of Johannesburg) and a MBA degree from the University of Wales.
She has more than 15 years’ experience on a variety of non-profit boards and often acts as advisor to emerging non-profit organisations. Her present involvement includes being non-executive board member of Trans 50, being a member of the International Reference Group and HIV Strategy Group of the World Council of Churches Ecumenical Advocacy Alliance and being the Vice Chair of the We Will Speak Out South Africa Coalition.
